East Meets West in Glorious Nostalgia

Anantara Siam Bangkok is one of Bangkok’s most prestigious hotels – famed for its Afternoon Tea of east-west fusion sweet and savoury treats, enjoyed with exclusive Mariage Frères teas in the glorious Lobby.

The crowning masterpiece of the hotel’s sophisticated heritage style, The Lobby exudes stately elegance with its grand columns, hand-painted silk panels and magnificent frescoed ceiling. An iconic attraction in itself, The Lobby provides a striking ambience for the great tradition of Afternoon Tea.

Tasteful indulgence has an intriguing twist on tradition, as east meets west with imaginative flair for Afternoon Tea. Savoury delights include the Italian ‘Pizzetta-Chicken in Dry Curry with Tomato Sauce and Mozzarella Cheese’, the Mexican ‘Brioche-Guacamole, Sour Cream and Tomato Salsa’ and the Norwegian ‘Smoked Salmon, Cream Cheese, Avocado and Roes’.  English plain and cranberry scones are served with lashings of strawberry preserve, lemon curd and Devonshire clotted cream and many more sweet temptations.

Savoured with the ultimate brew, Afternoon Tea is served with a range of world-renowned Mariage Frères teas. Epitomising the ‘French Art of Tea’, this unique brand offers cultured inspirations, including a specialty Thai-Inspired Tea collection that is exclusive to Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel. Guests can sip a nostalgic ‘Eléphant Blanc’. According to Siamese legend, the capture of a magnificent ‘White Elephant’ guarantees the king a long and prosperous reign. In celebration, this sentimental blend is composed of essences of wild spices and festive fruits. A brew of ‘Lune Rouge’ or ‘Red Moon’ is a green tea grown on hillsides in the Golden Triangle, from where it once followed an age-old caravan route to Tibetan monasteries. Its flowery, spicy taste has a flavour of honey, balanced by ginger and scented with rose. A cup of ‘Temple De L’aube’ pays tribute to Bangkok’s glittering Temple of Dawn – famous for its tall stepped towers with multi-coloured decorations. Evoking the scent of temple offerings, the flowery taste of this tea’s green leaves is enhanced by notes of citrus and other exotic fruits, as well as a profusion of mild spices for a sacred sensation.
